Identification and mandatory reporting of suspected child physical abuse is vital to the safety and well-being of children. Discriminating accidental injuries and medical conditions from abusive injuries, however, can be challenging for pediatricians. This session will use cases and guidelines to assist in the recognition and management of abusive injuries in young children utilizing history, mechanisms of injury, physical, and radiographic findings.
This session is part of the Passport to Pediatric Medical Subspecialties Pilot Program! To learn more, see here.
