Every 18 minutes, a newborn is diagnosed with opioid withdrawal syndrome. The Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) care approach includes the function-based assessment of withdrawal severity, the optimization of non-pharmacologic interventions, and the empowerment of families in the care of their infants. This session will review the ESC approach and a recent study reporting its effectiveness.
