Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems can support or replace spoken language for children identified with communication difficulties. Pediatricians routinely screen for speech delays and may be asked about AACs, especially when speech therapy isn't effective. Faculty will describe AAC approaches, review evidence, and offer practical tips.
